For many families, attending a traditional concert comes with barriers: sensory sensitivities, social expectations, and fear of judgment.

WithYou Concert creates a space where families can enter freely, knowing they are welcomed as they are.

And it invites the wider community to encounter a different vision of belonging, one that moves toward inclusion rather than away from it.

Through music, story, and shared experience, we are reimagining what inclusion truly means.

Seen. Known. Celebrated. Together.

We recognize that every individual carries inherent worth, purpose, and potential that must not be defined solely by diagnosis or limitation.

This conviction shapes our structured approach to developing abilities and enabling meaningful participation in community life.

VANMILAL NEWS

WHEAT MISSION SOCIETY
IN VANCOUVER

Non-profit organization for people with special needs

The Wheat (Milal) Mission Society in Vancouver represents a vital branch of the World Association of Milal's esteemed America Division. Our story began in 1999, when our unofficial operations first began, and we were officially established in August 2001. As a registered non-profit charity organization in BC, we take great pride in serving as a trusted service provider of CLBC (Community Living British Columbia) for people with special needs.

Our organization is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive society by offering a wide variety of programs and services to individuals with special needs. We also strive to act as a bridge between Korean communities affected by special needs and Canadian welfare service agencies and benefits.

At Wheat (Milal) Mission Society, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving the special-needs community with three main objectives: spreading our message of hope and love through evangelism, improving difficult living conditions through service, and educating the public about special needs through enlightenment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve and look forward to continuing our vital work with passion and purpose.

THE START

How the "Wheat Mission Society" Started

Wheat Mission Society was founded on Oct. 16, 1979, in South Korea.  When proper awareness and perspective on people with disabilities were non-existent in South Korea, the Society had three objectives: evangelism, service, and enlightenment.

In July 1993, the Society established Miral Welfare Foundation (“Miral/Milal” is a Korean pronunciation of “Wheat”), and continued its operational campaigns by setting up dozens of local branches,

missionary/leadership training institutes, schools and vocational training facilities for the disabled.

Under the same spirit and objectives, the movement spread to the US in 1987, as well as other parts in the world such as Europe and Canada. On March 30, 1995, the branches scattered throughout the world formed the World Association of Milal, signaling the beginning of a global missionary organization for the disabled.

The Wheat Mission movement is actively ongoing in over 100 parts of the world, and is aiming towards an establishment of 1000 worldwide locations for missionary work with the disabled. The Society is advancing in prayer to spread the living gospel and the true love of Jesus to over 600 million individuals with disabilities.
