W e e k l y P r o g r a m s
Wheat (MILAL) Mission Society in Vancouver provides many different services and programs for people with special needs in all age groups and all types of disability.
We call our semester-based weekly programs, 'Class Agape.'
Saturday program activities include, but are not limited to, Spiritual Care, Arts and Crafts, Photography, Music, TaeKwonDo, Special Education, Yoga, Recreation, and various Outings.
This program specializes in Korean traditional drumming called Nanta. The korean nanta team, Uhwoolim, which means harmony in Korean, performs at various events.
Meeting every Thursdays, the program focuses on Spiritual Care, Fine Arts, Music, Special Education and Art Therapy, led by a professional Art Therapist.
This Photography program is ran by a professional photographer. Participants take snapshots of their experience as they explore Vancouver.
This program started during the pandemic when we could not meet in person. It's a space where we do show-and-tell, play various online games and share our day-to-day lives with each other.
Participants learn how to make various meals while strengthening skills and building confidence in each session. It provides the opportunity to collaborate with one another, and strengthen friendship while sharing the finished dish.

It is an annual concert held globally since the establishment of the Wheat Mission in 1979. It showcases talented performers and inspirational speakers (such as Nick Vujicic, Lena Maria, So Hyang) who have not just overcome but learned to embrace the challenges of living with disabilities.
The <Vancouver Night of Milal> was first held in 2000; since then it has been held every autumn, sharing meaningful testimonies and performances with the Vancouver community.
Being one of the most anticipated events of the year, the participants of Milal enjoy the once-in-a-year dance party. Winter Formal allows the individuals with special needs to experience a "prom night."
